About the Artwork: L’Italien de la Belle Epoque
Where I created this piece: Rue des Petits Champs, Paris France.
What I love about this piece: The crisp glow of the neon sign contrasts beautifully against the gorgeous black paint of the restaurant facade, which itself turns neatly from dark paint to beige limestone with sharp, intricate detailing. All of this clarity in the background is interrupted beautifully by the man on the bike, passing through like a phantom of the present while we stand transfixed by the past.
