About the Artwork: In Dappled Light
Where I created this piece: Église de la Madeleine, Place des Prêcheurs, Aix-en-Provence France.
What I love about this piece: There is an intimate, quiet foreboding feel to this piece. Perhaps it’s the tension found between the serenity of the colors and lovely flickers of light, softly pulling against the slightly disconcerting low angle, the off-center closed door, and the carved reliefs’ power dynamics playing out in shadow above.
