About the Artwork: Escape Hatch
Where I created this piece: Gordes, the Luberon, Provence France.
What I love about this piece: The inviting, narrow cobblestone lane leading to who-knows-where sits on the side of a rocky hilltop, its steep sides visible in the distance… instead of the sky. This creates an ever-so-subtle sensation of being penned in: despite the bucolic, flowery perfection - with that bright warm sunshine just out of reach while we stand in the soft cool shadows.

Each piece connects to themes woven throughout both the collection it is a part of, as well as themes found across my work.
