What I love about this piece: The basilica spire rising from the heart of Menton's historic old town. The brilliant and eye-catching steps zig-zag up the steep hillside and toward the colorful buildings. I captured this image on the boardwalk in front of the Plage des Sablettes, a beach and small bay that leads to the border of Italy. Looking up, the stairs lead to the Basilique Saint-Michel Archange de Menton.
