What I love about this piece: The dark, ominous storm clouds create a beautiful frame over the Grand Canal, drawing your eye to the gondolier, calmly but quickly steering his gondola back toward the nearest dock. White foam from the rushing boats creates an inverse visual effect as the black clouds above. I especially love the speak of white in the middle: a seagull dashing through the skies before the rain begins to fall.
